Black Health Matters is an organization dedicated to educating and empowering black people about their health on a global level. We hope to promote general well-being in our community. We do this by striving for excellence and integrity in our work. Our aim is to be the NUMBER ONE health website dedicated solely to the health needs of black people.

Meet Our Team

Mrs Dorothy Asiedu is a human right's lawyer based in London, UK. She has considerable experience working in Africa for the United Nations and other non-governmental agencies on HIV/AIDS. Her specialist area is human rights law in relation to HIV/AIDS. We are delighted that she also finds time to write articles for BHM on the issue of HIV/AIDS in black communities.

Miss Sophia Cotton is the CEO of Simple Site Solutions, LLC, a website & graphic design company headquartered in Boston, USA. She has designed our website and continues to provide BHM with technical support and development.

Dr Ophelia E. Dadzie is a consultant dermatologist and dermatopathologist based in London. She is the founder and director of Black Health Matters. She holds a first class Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical sciences and a medical degree, both from Imperial College, London, UK. Since finishing medical school she has worked in various London teaching hospitals and also in the USA (Boston University), training in internal medicine, dermatology and dermatopathology. She is a consultant dermatologist and dermatopathologist in London. Her main interests are in the fields of 'skin of colour' and dermatopathology. She has written several articles in scientific journals and is a reviewer for several dermatological journals. She is the subject of biography in the 2010 edition of Who's Who in the World. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the British Association of Dermatologists. Through her busy schedule she also finds time to write articles and also manage the contents of BHM.

Dr Eroboghene Ubogu is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and the Director of the Neuromuscular Immunopathology Laboratory at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is also a writer for BHM, providing us with articles on neurological diseases in black people.
