5 reasons you should take a makeup breather
Wearing makeup all the time can be hard on your skin. We’re not suggesting you make a permanent break (after all, you and makeup have been going steady for a long time), but here are a few reasons to go natural every once in a while:
Your skin can breathe. Even the most gentle makeup contains preservatives, chemicals and fillers–all of which can clog your pores and cause dull skin. A short break (think: the weekend) gives yourskin a breather.
Your eyelashes will grow stronger. All that mascara application and removal can lead to product buildup and thinner-looking lashes.
You’ll have more time. Think of what you can do with that extra 20 to 30 minutes—take a short run, meditate, eat breakfast or get more sleep.
You’ll save money. Let’s face it: Makeup is an expensive habit. A brief break gives you the chance to sock away a tiny fraction of your foundation and lipgloss budget. Who couldn’t use more cash?
You’ll embrace your natural beauty. Exfoliate once a week, get monthly facials and use the right moisturizer for your skin type. This will help you look radiant without the aid of makeup.
