Flexibility helps lower blood pressure
Start your day (and Heart Health Month!) with gentle stretching. Yes, there’s conflicting information about the benefits of stretching before and after you exercise, but the act of stretching alone has been found to be good for your heart health. One study indicated that people who are more flexible have about 7 percent less arterial stiffness and lower blood pressure than those who are less flexible. You don’t need to break a heavy sweat. Just take a few minutes in the morning (or before bed) to stretch it out!
