Possible salmonella contamination sparks alarm
Check your spice rack. Giant spice maker McCormick has recalled its 0.75-ounce bottles of ground oregano over salmonella concerns. According to the Food and Drug Administration, the oregano was shipped to 41 states and internationally and carries “best by” dates of August 21, 2016, and August 22, 2016. Other ground, whole and oregano leaves products are not included in the recall. If your oregano is affected, toss it. Call McCormick Consumer Affairs (800-632-5847) for a replacement or refund.
