Fifteen percent of black children experience these traumatic events, creating dangerous levels of stress and derailing healthy brain development. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is part of a growing network of leaders in research, policy and practice working to increase awareness and understanding of the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the need to develop innovative, yet practical interventions.
